Young, British designer Nicholas Kirkwood launched his first collection in 2005 and won a Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence, awards made annually
to properties worldwide that represent the finest standards
and best value for money in luxury and independent
accommodation. With his inimitable architectural design aesthetic, it did not take the
Brit designer long to establish his statement footwear collection. Since then, he has worked with Chloé, Zac Posen and sister brand Rodarte for their summer runway show in 2009. Known for his futuristic meets baroque style sky-high heels, his Spring/Summer 2011 Collection is the first season the designer
has veered toward lower heel heights, though don't mistake this as a
softening of his avant-garde style. Case in point: the perfect balance between
ultra-cool and ultra-wearable with the easy-on-the-ankle platform.
